2014 Preppies

look at these smiling faces

It was a happy, sunny day when a parade of playful Preppies started school at Tara Shire State College last week. Twenty-two of them have set up class with Mrs Ellis, Mrs Harris and Miss Starr. We also welcome Mrs Steinohrt who will be assisting our literacy lessons.  Mrs Steinohrt captured our happy faces and new blue and gold uniforms when she took our “First Day at Prep” photos.

Some of the Preppies had attended Mrs Conlan’s PIPPAS class, so were quite familiar with the college environment. Most were quite confident and excited about coming to school. There were only a few tears – a few more from the Mums at the gate.

This week, Prep E / H will be setting goals for our academic achievements, counting, learning the alphabet, sharing and caring, singing, investigating new books, learning our colours… and getting to know our new classmates.

Walking the talk, the preppies already know to “Be a learner”, “Be respectful” and to “Be safe”.

It will be a busy year but we are confident that the journey will be a rewarding one!

Please come and visit our classroom and see how much we enjoy learning new things everyday!
