USQ Change Maker's Forum

Bronte and Brandon at USQ

On Thursday 6th March Year 11 students Brandon Hayward and Bronte Stenzel attended the USQ Change Maker’s forum in Toowoomba. These two students were given to the opportunity to participate in this forum as a result of their successful nomination in the USQ Young Leaders’ Award category presented at the College’s 2013 Awards Evening.

Brandon and Bronte were among over a hundred students from schools from Roma, Pittsworth, Dalby and Toowoomba to participate in the Forum.  The Forum centred on the notion that it only takes one person to create change. Students were encouraged to reflect on their community and to return and make a change.  Students at the Forum were addressed by members of the United Nations Youth Team of Queensland and USQ Ambassadors.

Both Brandon and Bronte now have the opportunity to participate in on-line discussions with students from other schools about change.
