Student Leadership

At Tara Shire State College, Student Leadership is bestowed upon the student/s who best represents the ideals of the College and is a role model to their peers.

The qualities which a student should possess/demonstrate to be eligible for consideration for a position are:-

 
  1. Leadership potential in the eyes of the Tara College Community​
  2. A high standard of behaviour and demeanour
  3. A high degree of industry and effort in academic work
  4. Participation in cultural, sporting, academic and extracurricular activities
  5. Loyalty to, the good name and well-being of Tara Shire State College
  6. Regular attendance at College
  7. Dressed in appropriate uniform at all times
 
School Captain blazers are donated by the TSSC P & C Association and presented to the College Captain(s) and Vice-Captain(s) each year at the Tara Shire State College Student Leadership Ceremony.
 
 

 PREFECT POSITION DESCRIPTION

The position of School Prefect at Tara Shire State College is bestowed upon the student/s in Year 12, who best represents the ideals of the College and is a role model to students. There role is to support the Captains and display the college values in their everyday life.  Prefects are mentors to their peers and College representatives.

 
 

CLASS LEADERS

Each class, from Year 4 to 11 elects a class leaders, with 2 Early Phase leaders selected to represent  Prep-Year 3. The class leaders represent their classes on the Student Council and assist in organising school events.

 
 

SPORTS CAPTAINS

Tara Shire State College has 3 sports House: Bukari, Coolac and Patonga.  Student leaders are chosen to represent these houses from both the primary school and the secondary sector.  

These Captains show sportsmanship and teamwork and rally the participation of their peers on the sporting field.
