Established in 1999, Tara Shire State College Special Education Program is an Associated Centre which is hosted by Tara Shire State College.  The SEP Team is committed to developing and delivering quality services for students placed in Special Education Programs at Tara.

Tara SEP supports low incident disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual, Hearing, Speech Language, Physical and Vision Impairment.

Some students have a negotiated Individual Education Plan.

Education Queensland promotes a policy of inclusion.  Students are supported in mainstream classes where modified and/or alternate curriculum can be delivered.

Tara SEP strives to develop strong links to the community through:

·         Provision of student’s access to real-life experiences in the local community through programs such as Community Access and Work Experience.

·         Utilisation of a wide range of cross-government services to improve student’s capacity to complete 12 years of schooling.
